ANB Open Studios at the Tea Rooms

© Sue Wookey

Well, Beds Open Studios has finally arrived and I spent today hanging my work at the Rose Garden Tea Rooms at Dunstable Priory Heritage Centre. I bought myself a super-dooper-whizzy-all-singing-all-dancing hanging system and had the paintings up in no time! Several of them are being exhibited for the first time and the new ones received quite a lot of nice comments. Always nice to know you are not going off the boil or have lost the (paint) plot. The Moon Horse acquired several admirers and quite right too, he's that sort of horse. I spent the afternoon sketching, drew another horse, a Green Woman (coming soon in paint if I can get my act together and get on with it) and a hare's head just to see if I could remember the bone structure. Well... I almost could. Tomorrow I shall work on some overdue Tolkien sketches otherwise I shall be drummed out of Middle-earth.

One last thing - the staff at the Centre, both in the shop and the cafe, are wonderful. I felt right at home.

You can discover more about Artist Network Bedfordshire Open Studios in my post here. There is still plenty of time to pay me and all the other participating artists a visit!
